THE FACING TASTING

The eternal battle between preservation and innovation, between the drive for life in all its fullness and the instinct to withdraw into a mere pretence of a life. This is one of the themes, perhaps THE theme, of many of Ferzan Ozpetek's films. We devised this small selection of Apulian flavours thinking of the irresistible short circuit in Ozptek’s region, where tradition and modernity, innovation and conservatism, laughter and tears continually hold sway, and where the salty and the sweet, the spicy and the delicate blend and interact continuously.
